R Kelly has a Meltdown During Gayle King Interview + He Might Go Back to Jail Over Unpaid Child Support Today

R Kelly sat down for an interview with Gayle King on CBS This Morning Tuesday which just aired this morning. Startling images from the interview came out last night with him standing over King waving his arms with her colleagues saying they were afraid for her safety interviewing him. He was asked multiple times if he wanted to stop the interview to compose himself to which he said no, he wanted the camera to see his emotions and hear him out. The words hysterical, erratic and crazy all the way around were used by King to describe the interview which is probably the understatement of the day.

“I am surprised that you agreed to do it. Why are you sitting down with us today?” King asked the singer.

“I’m very tired of all of the lies. I’ve been hearing things, and you know, and seeing things on the blogs, and you know, you know, I’m just tired,” Kelly said.

“What are the lies that you’re hearing that disturb you most?” King asked.

“Oh my God. Um — all of them, got little girls trapped in the basement… helicopters over my house trying to rescue someone that doesn’t need rescuing because they’re not in my house,” he said, adding, “Handcuffing people, starving people. I have a harem, what you call it – a cult. I don’t even really know what a cult is. But I know I don’t have one.”

One of the main takeaways is that Kelly said he felt the parents of his accusers sold their daughters for him and were in it for the money. While there was an element of the interview that appeared to be staged, if he was telling the truth the court of public opinion hasn’t begun going in his direction any more after the interview than it did before. Shaun King said he’s met with victims of his and said he’s a disturbing sociopath who’s told dozens of lies during his interview. Attorney Michael Avenatti, responsible for bringing these allegations into the public sphere said “R Kelly is a much better singer than he is an actor; 2. He is desperate and distraught because he knows he has been caught. 3. He thinks sexual assault of young girls in the “way way past” cannot be charged. 4. He is guilty.”

The viral moment of the interview was Kelly shouting about fighting for his f***ing life. “Stop it. You all quit playing! Quit playing! I didn’t do this stuff! This is not me! I’m fighting for my f***ing life! Y’all killing me with this sh*t!” Kelly told King, standing up. “I gave you 30 years of my f***ing career!”

While the allegations against him are certainly troubling, what really got him choked up was not having his children in his life. Knowing they’re seeing him go through this has clearly taken a toll on him. “I’m really not really fighting for my career here. I’m fighting for my rights & I’m fighting to have a relationship with my kids most of all, more than anything.”

This interview follows the Surviving R Kelly documentary about his abusive behavior and the 10 charges of aggravated sexual assault he’s currently facing. But the public fallout over his interview isn’t of his immediate concern, at least for now. If he doesn’t pay $160,000 of back child support by 10am, he’s going to be in back in the Cook County jail and court at 2pm. Considering how he needed help paying the $100,000 bail money for him to get out of jail last week, it’s anyone’s guess what happens today. He has a little over an hour at this point.
