Ja Rule Gets Clowned for his Disastrous NBA Halftime PerformanceJavonni Brustow

Ja Rule has had a bit of a losing streak these days. After having not one but two documentaries created about his trainwreck of the century music Fyre Festival, he just had a performance at this Saturday’s Timberwolves-Bucks game doing the halftime show. Seems like a pretty sensible way to redeem himself, right? Since festival planning doesn’t exactly seem to be his thing, he should probably stick to what he’s good at, right? Well what happens when that doesn’t go as planned? That’s what happened when the performance began and he shouted “are we ready” waiting for his music to begin which didn’t… leading to an awkward silence and even more awkward silence when no one in the audience responded. There wasn’t an applause or boo in the house. It was as if they were undecided. Again, he said “are we ready…” and after another pause said “I guess not.”
The music eventually started but it went so bad that Giannis Antetokounmpo starting doing warm up shots in the middle of his performance. And to make matters worse, when the Timberwolves cracked a joke at him, he told them they weren’t going to win for another 30 years for coming at “God.” We’re assuming he was referring to himself as God. Whatever. At least he looked good because for someone around 40 he definitely still looks good. 🙂
But do you know what else started? 50 Cent swooped in with his reaction with his now decades old beef with Rule that he’s clearly not letting go anytime soon. 50 posted on Instagram taking credit for the audience reaction saying “Why they do that to him,” he asked, before remembering his role as trolling gamemaster. “Oh yeah, I told them to do that.” Now this might have been a funny little comeback but what wouldn’t be funny is if Ja Rule took credit for the NY police department commander who told his officers to shoot 50 Cent “on sight.” The situation was so serious that 50 has considered moving his businesses out of New York City and he said he feared for his life. We’re pretty sure 50 wouldn’t appreciate Ja Rule saying he set that up.
In other news, if you didn’t get enough of hearing about Ja Rule’s first time at the rodeo of festival planning, he said earlier this month that he was considering going at it again. Yes, you read that correctly. He’s actually considering going through it again. Before anyone laughs him off the internet any further over this, mistakes do happen. The industry is actually moving in the direction of festivals as they’re a good way of making money and in many ways better than touring as you have far more avenues of making money. Lil Wayne has his, Chance the Rapper, Kanye West and plenty of others. If for no other reason than redemption’s sake we’re hoping he goes through with it and plans with a better team this time.
