Iggy Azalea had her nudes leak over the weekend coming from a 2016 GQ Australia photoshoot of hers and as would be expected, she is not happy about it. The photographer claims his claims the images were stolen from him but from what we can see, Iggy’s out to get someone’s head and if it happens to be his, then so be it.
She wrote in a statement on one of her now deactivated social media accounts, “A lot of high profile women have shot covers for GQ with a strategically placed hand etc covering their breasts etc I always felt they were very beautiful covers, so I jumped at the opportunity. I hadn’t seen other women’s covers leak so I felt comfortable (on a closed set) to model for such a reputable magazine knowing only the images with my hands covering would be considered for print. I never consented to taking topless pictures for potential release, period. It was my understanding BEFORE shooting, GQ do not print topless pictures.”
“Today Im a ball of negative emotions,” she said about how she’s been feeling dealing with these new revelations. “I feel blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry, sad and a million other things,” she candidly described. “Not solely because I did not consent to this – but also because of the vile way people have reacted. A lot of the comments I see from men in particular taking things even further and sharing their thoughts and fantasies in regards to my body has honestly disturbed me. The outright wicked things people say is overwhelming & makes me feel like throwing up.”
She even went as far as to compare what happened to her to a nuclear explosion. “If you’ve ever been humiliated before in front of family & those you care about maybe you can relate to what I’m going though [sic]. It’s like a nuclear bomb that explodes and not only destroys you emotionally, but leaves a path of destruction in your personal life, effecting [sic] your relationships & people who matter most too,” the star said. A little dramatic, but we understand. As for finding the culprit, she said “It’s important to me that someone actually be held accountable for their actions & the way it impacts my life,” she said. The statements being mentioned to her on social media, we’re sure is anything but what she wants to see everyday, especially since she didn’t ask for any of this. She finished her statement by simply saying, “Please be kinder to one another.”
The photographer, Nino Munoz had a statement of his own saying, “I’m outraged and saddened to find out that images of mine were stolen and published without my permission. There is currently an investigation underway. Posting these stolen images is illegal and anyone who has done so will be prosecuted. I empethize with any discomfort that this situation has caused to anyone that is involved.”
Iggy’s suffered enough Ls for the years the industry threw about every possible dart at her from accusing her of being racist, questioning her lyrical ability and more for her to roll over on this one. Whoever did it, we hope she finds and deals with them with the quickness.
