Dontrell Britton’s the founder of the prison style fitness camp Twenty3n1. And he isn’t someone just endorsing and selling a program. He served the time getting his body into shape during that time to prove that it works. It was 3 years he served to be exact, for drug charges. He wins our respect for being open about his story and if the truth is told, some of the most enterprising people that we know are those who have been in prison. The drive for a better life with tough circumstances is something we wish more people had. He’s also from our hometown of DC, and one of our favorite neighborhoods of Adams Morgan. We’ll always be partial to both wanting to see those in our hometown and returning citizens succeed.
Since 2016 he’s helped over 1000 clients to get in shape and that is after being released in 2015. That is phenomenal by itself. He’s worked with rappers Pusha T, Shy Glizzy and has been featured in Essence Magazine, Washingtonian Magazine and ABC’s Channel 8 and Fox 5 DC. And we have to add that Essence described a photoshoot he did eating fruit as the grapes not being the only snack in the pic. We have to agree.
Seeing him talk about his training methods, he says people look at him like he’s crazy in the gym for having his shirt off screaming but he says it’s not just about the reps but pushing your body to its limits. Looking at Britton, it’s definitely clear he’s done just that and isn’t too bad to look at while in the process of working out. We’re kidding, of course we like seeing him work out. It’s why he made our Eye Candy list.
