Cardi B Deletes Her Instagram Again, This Time Over Grammy Award Criticism

Some people simply don’t belong on social media and at times Cardi B seems to be that person. She’s currently on at least her second time of deleting her Instagram account and this time over backlash of her groundbreaking Grammy win. What should have been a celebratory moment for the Bodak Yellow rapper turned out to be bitter sweet when she opened Instagram and saw people criticizing her becoming the first female rapper to win Best Rap Album of the Year at the Grammys. She ended up deleting her Instgram but not before posting an expletive filled video saying “I’m sick of this sh*t.”

“It’s not my style for people to put other people down to uplift somebody else,” she said, referencing the scandal BET created by pitting her and Nicki Minaj against each other again. They wrote a tweet mocking Nicki not being where they said Nicki Minaj had been dragged by her lacefront leading Nicki to quit BET’s summer festival that she and Cardi B were both headlining.

She went on to make it clear that she did not support what was being projected onto Nicki saying “That’s not my style and that’s not what I’m with. I don’t support that.”

“However, I’ve been taking a lot of sh*t today. I’m seeing a lot of bullsh*t today and I saw a lot of sh*t last night, and I’m sick of this sh*t. I work hard for my motherf***in’ album.”

We’d say she’s learning the ugliness of the internet but she’s been down this road before. But it proves the old adage that they build you up to tear you down. And on top of the criticism, there’s the fact that Ariana Grande felt her deceased ex Mac Miller deserved the award.

“I remember last year when I didn’t win for ‘Bodak Yellow’ and everybody was like, ‘Cardi got snubbed,’” she recalled. “Now this year’s a f*ckin’ problem?! My album went two-time platinum, my n****, and every chart that there was, my album was always Top 10. Number one album, as well.”

Cardi’s always been someone who worked against all odds, did what she otherwise was told she wasn’t capable of doing and that’s case here with this Grammy win which she needs to enjoy despite what others think or say.

“I locked myself in the studio for three months, my n—. Didn’t go to sleep in my bed sometimes for four days straight — pregnant!” she explained. “While everybody was harassing me like, ‘You’re not gonna do it, we know you pregnant, your career’s over…’”

“Slept in the studio on leather sofas for 3 months straight, migraines, in Atlanta in Miami away from my family. I have 4 songs that couldn’t make the album cause my nose was so stuffy bro I was huffy puffy,” she wrote while posting a congratulatory message from Chance the Rapper to balance out the negativity.

“This is overly deserved, the album was front-to-back hits. It would be inconceivable no to honor u last night,” Chance, 25, who was featured on the project, wrote.

“I had @offsetyrn and @brooklyn.johnny reaching out to the world for a verse on top of that I was depress [sic] cause everybody was suspecting I was pregnant and I constantly kept reading Cardi you ‘STUPID,’ ‘YOU RUINED YOUR CAREER,’ ‘WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A BABY AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR CAREER,’” she wrote while tagging her husband Offset.

“My album went #1 and spend [sic] 21 weeks straight on billboard top ten! Every song is gold or platinum or higher. I listen to my album and I cry because I know the hell I went thruu doing the album is always a bittersweet memory.”

“THANK YOU EVERYONE THAT SUPPORTED ME AND LISTEN. I’m thankful and grateful and again thank you to all the artist that gave me a feature,” Cardi added.

Enjoy your success, Cardi. The haters were there at the beginning of your career and they’re going to continue throughout it. We all know how people like putting women against each other and at this point it’s to be expected. Just don’t fall into those traps when you see them happening.
