WATCH: The Weeknd ‘Call Out My Name’ Official Music Video

On March 30, 2018, The Weeknd surprised fans by releasing his first EP, My Dear Melancholy. Consisting of 6 tracks, the EP was streamed more than 26 million times on its first day of release on Apple Music and eventually sold 169,000 album-equivalent units with 68,000 being pure sales, hitting number one on the US Billboard 200.


Call Out My Name has been chosen as the first single and today a music video was released to mark it. The Weeknd co-wrote the song with Frank Dukes and Nicolas Jaar, while Dukes served as the producer.

Directed by frequent The Weeknd collaborator Grant Singer, the visual finds The Weeknd having bars fly out of his mouth, birds freezing and fires starting in the forest. Take a look at the cinematic visual below:
