After a 2 year break, R&B singer-songwriter Miguel has announced his long-awaited fourth studio album War & Leisure! Set to be released on December 1, the album will consist of 12 tracks and will include his Travis Scott assisted song Sky Walker as well as Shockandawe, the latest song to be released from the record. Take a look at what he had to say to Billboard about the record below:

“We’re trying not to pay attention, but we have to pay attention. With my albums, I always try to take a picture of what’s going on in my life. War & Leisure has political undertones, because that’s what life feels like right now. This album is intentionally about the ethos right now, that we are right in the middle of all this. We’re trying to flourish in the middle of all this.”

He adds:

“We all wake up, and it’s time to be creative and amazing and positive and all the things that we’re supposed to be when you look on Instagram, but then we’re dealing with these same problems, this injustice, wars between politicians with egos. Like, 140 characters are going to get us into a war right now?”

War & Leisure will serve as the official followup from 2015’s Wildheart, which earned widespread acclaim from critics, who called it “even bolder” sonically than Kaleidoscope Dream and “languorous and detailed.”
