Cardi B is officially taking off. After reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last summer with her breakout hit single Bodak Yellow, the now 25-year-old rapper has just released her highly anticipated debut album, Invasion of Privacy, last weekend to positive reviews from fans and critics alike. During her first appearance on SNL this past weekend, she also confirmed rumors about her being pregnant, but she isn’t stopping there.

Cardi is featured in the May 2018 issue of GQ magazine where she speaks about her ties with the Blood gang, butt injections, and her relationship with fiance Offset of the Migos.

She is also featured in a photoshoot with photographer Christian Weber, where she wears pieces from Fear of God, Helmut Lang, Adam Selman, Brandon Maxwell and Alix NYC – just to name a few. Take a look at a few of the excerpts below and click here to read the full interview:

ON HER BLOOD GANG TIES: “Here’s the thing. I never really wanted to talk about that, because I always wanted a music deal. I always want to keep my endorsements. When I was 16 years old, I used to hang out with a lot of Bloods. I used to pop off with my homies. And they’d say, ‘Yo, you really get it poppin’. You should come home. You should turn Blood.’ And I did. Yes, I did. And something that–it’s not like, oh, you leave. You don’t leave. Stripping changed my life. When I was a stripper, I didn’t give a fuck about gangs, because I was so focused on making money.”

ON GETTING BUTT INJECTIONS: “They don’t numb your ass with anything. It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days.”

ON MEETING BEYONCE: “I’m too shy. When I met Beyoncé, people be like, ‘How that felt? I bet you was mad happy.’ It’s like, ‘Actually, I wanted to shit on myself.’ It was a very scary thing. All she was doing was like, ‘Hi. I love your music.’ And I was like ‘UHHHN!'”

ON FIRST GETTING WITH OFFSET LAST YEAR: “Around Super Bowl time I told my publicist to tell him, because I was very shy, ‘Listen, if we gonna go on a public date together, you cannot make me look like a dumb-ass after this.’ I never wanted to date a rapper because I would hate to look crazy in public. Like you on a date with me but you fucking other bitches. And he was like, ‘No, I really like her. I’m really feeling her.’ We was talking, we was making out. We didn’t fuck. After the Super Bowl, it got really serious because I feel, like, all eyes on us.”

ON LEARNING TO TRUST HIM AGAIN AFTER HE CHEATED ON HER: “For a long time, we was in love with each other but we didn’t really trust in each other. It was like a competition of who’s gonna hit each other up first. I don’t want to hit him up first; he will hit me up first. People used to put things in my head: ‘He gonna leave you. He be fucking with mad bitches.’ People used to put things in his head: ‘Cardi, she’s a dog. Don’t trust her.’ We never really trusted each other because I always feel like he could get any girl he wants—what makes me think he’s gonna want me? I think he felt the same way. Ni**as want to be with me, and bitches wanna be with him.”
