Just last week Drake released the video to the sone In My Feelings that spawnyed yet another viral dance craze with Hollywood’s finest spread throughout to include Phylicia Rashad, Will Smith, Ciara, Big Freedia, La La Anthony and a bunch more. The song topped the Hot 100 for a full 4 weeks getting about $2 million from the song streaming the for the 7 day period before the video came out. But the record breaking stint he’s on isn’t letting up. He has now become the first artist to surpass 50 billion streams. Yes, that is billion with a “b” coming at the same time his album Scorpion has topped the Hot 200 for 5 consecutive weeks. This year he’s sat a top the Hot 100 for a total of 23 weeks thanks to his singles God’s Plan and Nice for What.

While some would be satisfied with having music breaking records the way Drake’s is, remember the key to the success of a lot of his tracks have been outside of the music with viral dances, his benevolance in helping the people in the city of Miami such as buying groceries for everyone in the store while there. Drake is taking his success to a new level. Rappers 50 Cent and Diddy might have their drinks, Nicki Minaj might be getting her own Beats One radio station, but Drake? He’s getting his own game show. He just filed copyright paperwork for a God’s Plan game show. Unfortunately the court docs don’t show what type of game show it is but he’s also reportedly looking to create God’s Plan merchandise, as well as downloadable music, music videos, audio recordings, marketing and promotion. A song of Drake’s comes to mind here and that is Oh What a Time to be Alive. No other song could more aptly describe this time in his career.
