Drake Joins Forbes’ List of Top 5 Richest Hip Hop Stars

Drake just might be experiencing the best week ever with the successful launch of his new album Views from the 6 selling over 600,000 copies in 24 hours but now his bank account is starting to reflect his career success. Drake is now a member of Forbes’ Magazine’s top 5 richest hip hop stars. With an estimated fortune of $60 million the Young Money Entertainment star made his money from being one of the top mainstream rappers in recent years along with high profile endorsement deals from Nike, Apple and Sprite, just enough to land him the number 5 spot on the list.

Other members of the list are Jay-Z in the third spot with his $610 million net worth, rap mogul Bryan “Birdman” Williams with $110 million, whose currently being sued for half of that by his artist rapper Lil Wayne for allegedly refusing to put out his record, Tha Carter V. Let’s hope he still gets to remain on the list after this case. Coming in at number 2 is Dr. Dre with $710 million following his decades in the industry and his smash hit Beats headphone line but finally, ranking in at number is Sean Diddy Combs with his vault of a whopping $750 million. Britney might have came out in 2007 saying “It’s Britney B*tch,” but on the hip hop side, “It’s Diddy B*tch.” Diddy goes down in hip hop as an early pioneer, and one who has managed to transcend time, and who can ignore his still standing Sean John clothing line, Ciroc vodka, reality shows, etc. He’s an all around mogul. Drake, my good man, you are in good company. Welcome to the list.
